How did Sakura Science Plan play a role in your study / research in Japan?

Because of the Sakura Science Plan, I got to know many people who I will be working with in the laboratory, as well as the research fields of the laboratory. We were able to discuss possible collaborations with the professors which came to fruition as I am now conducting the research in KU.

Please describe your comments freely related to your life in Japan.

I was able to meet a lot of new people as a result of my exchange student program! I had lots of various experiences with regards to Japanese as well as international culture. The people in the laboratory are kind and fun to work with, and our professors are always willing to assist us with any difficulty. As part of my scholarship, I was required to take some courses. Because of them, I got a new perspective on the various issues that Japan and the world is facing right now and how we engineers should act in order to address them. I am very grateful to have this opportunity to live and study in Japan.

Please describe your message to people who are going to participate in this program.

To those who would like to study in Japan, I am sure that there are many opportunities available and waiting for you. The government of Japan provides a lot of scholarships to support your stay here in Japan. Having an exchange student program experience is really one of a kind and will teach you valuable life lessons. You will also get to meet a lot of new friends! Plus, Japan is one of the advanced countries, so there would be a lot to learn in science, engineering and technology!
