How did Sakura Science Plan play a role in your study / research in Japan?

Sakura Science Plan (SSP) is like a trigger for studying abroad in Japan to conduct research. That is to say, the plan gave me a chance to immerse myself in Japanese culture which is not only food and personalities of people, but also the spirit of dealing with matters. When I was making the robot with Japanese participants at Kyushu Institute of Technology during the SSP, I wanted to make it much faster. Therefore, I skipped previous pages of the manual script which I thought was not important for making the robot. However, I met assembling problems because I did not follow the scripts in previous pages. By experiencing it, I learned from Japanese people that doing things step by step is essential. As a result, after SSP, I started to think about the possibilities of studying abroad in Japan.

Please describe your comments freely related to your life in Japan.

For settling down my life in Tokyo, I would like to thank my Japanese friends for helping me solve some problems requiring patience such as opening my bank account, getting my cell phone number, and so on. These are not easy for foreigners, especially because I only knew a little Japanese. For studies in Japan, English courses increased more and more when I got to my Master’s degree. I am glad that I don't need to worry about course issues. In addition, I will definitely take a Japanese language class in the third quarter. There are two classes in a week, so I am confident that my Japanese skills can be strengthened quickly. For the food, I still try to get used to the food here, because the food is rather expensive, salty, and there are less vegetables in cooked dishes. However, it is delicious, so I eat outside most of the time. In addition, sometimes I go to the supermarket to buy salads, fruits, and so on. It is cheaper to buy food in the supermarket.

Well, seizing your chance is important. When I was preparing to study abroad these years, I found that there was a chance for making robots with students in Japan. Without doubt, I registered for the event because I thought this was a chance to interact with international students. In addition, I would like to conduct a research about robotics in a foreign country, so it was a chance to know how foreigners deal with problems when making robots. As a result, I seized the chance to participate in Sakura Science Plan (SSP) at Kyushu Tech and started to consider studying abroad in Japan. That is the reason why seizing the chance is important.
