How did Sakura Science Plan play a role in your study / research in Japan?

After encountering Tohoku University (TU) in Sakura Science Plan (SSP), I recognized different experimental topics and advanced skills which I did not usually see in my school. And the researchers in TU with strong self-motivation really inspired me and let me learn from them. I wanted advance further with my study/research by strengthening my experimental techniques and broadening my horizons. Therefore, I came to TU again for an exchange program in August, and trying to finish a cell cultural study.

Please describe your comments freely related to your life in Japan.

I was studying at Prof. Hitoshi Shirakawa's Lab under the Graduate School of Agricultural Science. Besides my cell cultural study, I also joined in lab seminars and meetings every week. Usually, I had meals with lab members, who are all very nice and kind to me! One of the senior students also help me to save some living problems. I really appreciated their help. And about the scholarship support, I got the ROIS (Research-Oriented Incoming Student) scholarship from Tohoku University which can totally support the spending of rent, food and some essential things.

Please describe your message to people who are going to participate in this program.

Sakura Science Plan (SSP) is a meaningful program for us. Everyone who got the chance to join will get some new knowledge and deeply understand the Japanese culture. If you are planning to study in Japan, SSP is good for you to preview the environment of different experimental laboratories.
