How did Sakura Science Plan play a role in your study / research in Japan?

While joining the program of Sakura Science Plan (SSP) during my stay in Japan, I was able to take a close look at university campus life. I also deepened my understanding of the Japanese culture by visiting museums and castles. It was really enjoyable to be able to participate in scientific activities such as conducting chemistry experiments and visiting laboratories at Saga University. As someone coming from a developing country like Indonesia, it was really a big opportunity for me to know more about science and technology, and about development in a big country like Japan. Now as I get the chance to come back to Japan the second time to continue my study, I have no big problems dealing with student life, adaptating with the environment and culture differences.

So far, my life in Japan has been really great. I am so grateful and really honored to be able to come back to Saga University within the same year as a master's degree student with scholarship from MEXT. I can't wait to start doing my research at the same university and laboratory I have visited before, as well as working with students and professor who have been really kind in supporting my study. I am eager to learn as much as I could in the next two years and return to my country to bring back all the good things I have received and to contribute in developing my country's bright future.

Sakura Science Plan (SSP) will be one of the best exchange programs you may experience. All of the activities are enjoyable and unforgettable, from witnessing and experiencing the Japanese high-end lifestyle, visiting Japan's top universities, doing experiments in the laboratory, up to taking a closer look at Japanese traditional cultures. I hope these experiences will be opportunities to impact the minds of countless students who will truly cherish this program in the future.
