How did Sakura Science Plan play a role in your study / research in Japan?

I am a Chemistry undergraduate student from University of Yangon, Myanmar who participated in the course of SAKURA Exchange Program in Science. The course was run by Kansai University from 10 to 19 November in 2016. It was an unforgettable trip that encouraged me to choose my dream career as a research scientist. During this course, I gained a lot of knowledge about research and science. I was able to attend the interesting lectures by Kansai University (KU) professors where I got to know the latest technology. From that time, I became an eager student in my university and I found my place as a research assistant in the Ecological Laboratory of Myanmar's non-profit organization named Advancing Life and Regenerating Motherland (NPO ALARM). Moreover, I was able to participate in the 14th International Chitin and Chitosan Conference (ICCC). It can be said that the SAKURA Exchange Program was the big turning point of my life.

Please describe your comments freely related to your life in Japan.

Life in Japan was like living in a healthy and systematic world. It was totally safe to go around at night without any fear and the environment was nearly perfect except for the odd silence. The Japanese friends and professors are very polite and gentle. I felt like home staying with them. Their great passion and hard work is my goal to achieve. Because of these facts, I will try to join the Master degree course from universities in Japan after I am graduated.
