How did Sakura Science Plan play a role in your study / research in Japan?
Sakura Science Plan helped to improve my level of knowledge in the fields of science and technology, to create connections, to expose myself to diverse culture, and to improve myself with some skills in the forms of diversity exposure.
Please describe your comments freely related to your life in Japan.
Having lived in Japan almost for a year, I am excited to study and live here because I will be part of a world class education, safe and comfortable country. Moreover, I love eating fine food and sitting in natural hot spring baths, surrounded by nature. Honestly, I used to have some challenges (i.e. cultural misconceptions, language barriers,...) for living and studying here. However, I was already familiar with those challenges. My university, Tokyo Institute of Technology is one of Japan's top universities. It has a beautiful campus. I belong to Life Science and Technology Department. My advisor is very nice and friendly.
Please describe your message to people who are going to participate in this program.
I encourage junior students to join this program because the program will allow them to have the opportunity to learn from top researchers in Japan, and also to visit and learn at prestigious universities. It is about learning science and gaining new experiences. Experience is the best teacher and learning science directly in each field creates a totally different environment and it would allow the students to gain a new world perspective, which would benefit them in the future. This exchange program is an experience of a lifetime.
