How did Sakura Science Plan play a role in your study / research in Japan?

Through the Sakura Science Program, I was able to greatly advance in my research. I had the opportunity to use high technology machines such as the Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICPMS) to analyze some of my samples. Consultations and discussions with professors and fellow graduate students from Kanazawa University also helped in shaping ideas for my research.

Please describe your comments freely related to your life in Japan.

My stay in Japan is one of the best experience I've had. Japanese culture and the people itself is truly amazing. They have molded a very peaceful, secure but exciting environment which we don’t actually experience in Manila. The people are genuinely polite but frank. I see freedom, being capabale of doing anything, given the greater opportunities for scholarships, workshops, etc.

Please describe your message to people who are going to participate in this program.

Japan offers great opportunities for us to be able to dream and to become. Grab that opportunity and don’t waste it. Learn and be able to apply. Opportunities remain words and experiences lost in the past unless we'll be able to make something out of it which would be to help other people. Maybe, we just need to find greater purpose in it.
