How did Sakura Science Plan play a role in your study / research in Japan?

The Sakura Science program by JST was an excellent opportunity for a researcher like me outside from Japan to understand the present state of art in scientific research. Apart from academics this program helped students and researchers to understand the culture of Japan. For me it was a great opportunity to visit the Department of Earth Science, Kanazawa University which helped me a lot to gain important knowledge from some eminent researchers. I have visited some important laboratories in the university which lead me to move forward my reseach career in earth science. With the help of Sakura Science program, I got the opportunity to visit ERI, The University of Tokyo and Dr. Nakatani Masao as well. I got the visiting fellowship from ERI and now I am working in rock mechanics lab under the supervision of Dr. Nakatani Masao.

I really love the culture and social life in Japan. The people here are very kind to me and very much helpful in highest extent. I got a very much comfortable and friendly working environment at ERI.

One should participate in Sakura Exchange Program and experience the culture and scientific aspect of Japan, which may help to develop his/her professional career in near future.
