How did Sakura Science Plan play a role in your study / research in Japan?

After attending the Sakura Science Plan, I have been so inspired by the education system, technology, and its mesmerizing culture of Japan. First, during the program, I had a chance to particpate and listen to many research presentations from OPU, which inspires me to take a part as a researcher in Japan. For this reason, I decided to apply for a Master's program in Japan under MEXT scholarship. Second, the participation in OPU was my first experience in Japan, so I was introduced to many aspects of Japan and I also had a chance to visit some amazing places in Japan, which gave me such a wonderful impression toward this country. I would say that Sakura Science Plan has been one of the reasons that inspire me to study in Japan, and I am really grateful for all the friendly organizers from OPU who have provided very nice hospitality and warm welcome to our group of students from Cambodia.

Please describe your comments freely related to your life in Japan.

Life is Japan is challenging but rewarding. I have learned a lot about the research skills, and especially I have discovered myself more when I am residing in this country by myself. The struggles with communication, language, and culture differences have put me down for a short period of time, but later I find out that those differences are what makes me appreciate the journey and particularly the well-manner Japanese people. I appreciate the education system in Japan, and I think everyone has a high responsibility in working and living. I also enjoy the convenient transportation and tourism services in Japan, but I hope it will get even better if it is made easier for foriegners especially language.

Please describe your message to people who are going to participate in this program.

Please make the best of this program. For juniors coming to Japan, I believe you will find everything amazing and I think you might find the inspiration during the participation in this program. For juniors in Japan, I believe you will meet a lot of good friends, and please try to communicate and understand about their cultures (and don't forget to smile :) ). During my generation, I have made amazing friends from OPU, and I still keep contact with most of them. I think that is one of the most beautiful parts of the program. Lastly, I hope all of you find this program amazing as I do.
