Hi, I am Sreemoyee Chakraborty and I attended the Sakura Science Program in 2017. We were hosted by the Kanazawa University in Kanazawa-shi, Ishikawa Prefecture. We had amazing presentation sessions where the scientific discussions were fantastic. There were students from three countries: Japan, India and the Philippines and professors from Japan and India…Some of the most memorable moments were from the field trip in Hokkaido where we stayed in a traditional Japanese house, made out own food together and hiked to see the geological structures in and around the Mt. Apoi Geopark─a UNESCO Global Geopark, We also made it to the top of Mt. Apoi and Mt. Yoshida.
