How did Sakura Science Plan play a role in your study / research in Japan?
This program helped me to get familiar with the research environment, as well as general life of Japan. I got to know quite a few professors and students of the university I visited (Hiroshima University). Later I decided to join this university for doctoral course. The research environment, effort of researchers of this university, as well as the facilities encouraged me to choose this university as the place of my doctoral study.
Please describe your comments freely related to your life in Japan.
So far, the most appealing thing in my stay has been the politeness and helpfulness of Japanese people. In any situation or any place, I have received sincere help even from complete strangers, let alone be friends or professors of the university. As for the university, it being situated in the outskirts of the city, the peace and quite of the place can be felt almost always. Situated amidst nature, the sesons and the beautiful colours of autumn and spring can be enjoyed to the fullest. Apart from studies and research, I enjoy getting to know the Japanese culture from my friends at the university. I also enjoy getting to know a lot of students from other countries such as China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Mexico etc. as well. Overall, life in Japan has been very beautiful and positive till now.
Please describe your message to people who are going to participate in this program.
For the people coming to Japan in the future I hope you enjoy your stay and get to know the culture of this beautiful country as much as you can. If you do not know any Japanese (language), do not worry as most people will more or less understand what you are trying to say. In any case, people will always try to help you whether they can or can not speak your language. Enjoy your stay, get to know the people, the university you are visiting, the culture, let them know your culture and ofcourse prosper in science. I wish you all the success.
