How did Sakura Science Plan play a role in your study / research in Japan?

Sakura science Program really changed my perspective on how effectively education is imparted in Japan. After being a part of Sakura Science program in 2015, I came to know about all the institutions in Japan, and I was greatly impressed by the level and standards of education in Japan, and thus I made up my mind to pursue my higher education in Japan. When I visited Japan in 2015 under sakura science program, I visited many renowned universities and their laboratories, and I was greatly effected by how humble and well informed the teachers are in Japan. I am always sincerely really grateful to Sakura Science Program for broadening my horizons and view of Japanese life and education.

Please describe your comments freely related to your life in Japan.

Life in Japan is perhaps the best experience I've ever had in my life. After coming back from the Sakura Science Program, I applied for scholarships and studied hard to get a scholarship. and thankfully, I got a full scholarship from the prestigious government of Japan to pursue my studies for 5 years here. When I visited Japan in the Sakura Science Program for a short term, I was surprised by the level of management and development in Japan, but now that Iive here, I truly understand why. The Japanese people are very, very hardworking and they appreciete the value of time. And I have been learning this from them ever since I came here. My senseis (teachers) are very humble and helpful and support me in every aspect of life. I have also learnt quite a lot of the Japanese language, and although I found it difficult in the beginning, it is an immensely beautiful language. Everything is very safe in every part of Japan, and the standards of education are one of the best in the world. I also am a part of Osaka University Rugby team, and despite of still being just intermediate in Japanese, I get immense support and help in every aspect of the game. I currently study and live in Osaka, which is very beautiful, ranging from beautiful countryside to bright night lights of the city. The food is absolutely amazing. I have travelled to the western countries as well, but in my opinion, life in Japan is one of a kind, and it is the best in every aspect.

To the students who want to pursue higher education in Japan,I would suggest to learn as much of Japanese as you can before you come here, and begin the climb of learning the Kanjis used in the Japanese language. Although most people do understand english, but life in Japan can truly be enjoyed by speaking and understanding the Japanese language. To the ones who are good at sports, I would strongly recommend coming to Japan to pursue their sports goals as well, the way of teaching, coaching and practicing sports is very systematic and well suited for any kind of sports, and from my experience in Rugby with Osaka University, it is indeed great for one's overall development. The level of maths and sciences in Japan is one of the best internationally, so if you want to pursue science fields, make these your strengths. The life in Japan is truly worth all the hard work you will put to come here, so I wish you all the best and work hard!
