At the beginning of 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Sakura Science Program at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST). This experience has been one of the most inspiring and transformative moments in my academic journey. Through the program, I was able to learn directly from leading researchers and immerse myself in Japan’s unique research culture that combines innovation, precision, and deep respect for collaboration. The exposure to cutting-edge technologies and interdisciplinary discussions at NAIST broadened my perspective on how science can contribute to solving real-world challenges, especially in the area of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), particularly in healthcare applications.
Beyond the academic experience, the program also offered me a cultural insight into Japan’s values of discipline, humility, and teamwork. Visiting historical sites in Nara, Kyoto, and Osaka and engaging with local students made me appreciate how science and culture can coexist harmoniously to create a holistic learning environment. The Sakura Science Program did not only strengthen my research competence but also built a global network of passionate young scientists. It reminded me that scientific progress thrives when diverse minds share a common goal to make a meaningful impact for society.
I am deeply grateful to JST and NAIST for this valuable opportunity. I hope to continue this connection as an active member of the Sakura Science Club, contributing to the bridge of friendship and innovation between Japan and other countries.
