It gives me immense pleasure to share my experience as a participant in the Sakura Science Exchange Programme, which has been one of the most enriching and inspiring journeys of my professional and academic life. I had the privilege of visiting Japan twice under this prestigious programme—first in 2024 (Course A) and again in 2025 (Course B). These experiences provided me with valuable opportunities to learn, collaborate, and strengthen international academic relationships.

As the Training and Placement Head and Head of International Relations at my institution, I have always been passionate about creating global learning opportunities for students. My participation in the Sakura Programme not only enhanced my own understanding of Japan's advanced education system, research culture, and technological innovations but also enabled me to guide and motivate students towards international academic pathways.

One of the most rewarding outcomes of this engagement has been witnessing the success of our students. I am delighted that three students who participated in the Sakura Programme have subsequently pursued higher education at Kwansei Gakuin University. Their achievements demonstrate the transformative impact of international exchange programmes and the opportunities they create for young minds to explore global education and research.

My association with Japan has further deepened through my ongoing collaboration with Professor Hirohisa Tanaka on a Clean Air Project. During my visits, I was greatly impressed by Japan's commitment to environmental sustainability and its remarkable air quality management practices. Observing these initiatives firsthand inspired me to explore innovative solutions that could contribute to improving air quality in Jaipur, Rajasthan, where air pollution remains a significant challenge. This collaboration has strengthened my resolve to promote research-driven and technology-based approaches for environmental improvement.

Looking ahead, I am eager to visit Japan again to learn more about advanced technologies, sustainable development practices, and innovative research methodologies. The knowledge and experience gained through such collaborations can play an important role in addressing environmental and societal challenges in India.

To further strengthen international engagement among students, I have also introduced the GULABI Programme, an initiative designed to promote international student exchange, cross-cultural learning, and global academic collaboration. Through this programme, I aim to provide students with opportunities to interact with international institutions, develop global perspectives, and build meaningful academic and professional networks.

The Sakura Science Exchange Programme has been a life-changing experience for me. It has not only broadened my academic horizons but has also reinforced my belief in the power of international collaboration. I remain grateful for the opportunities it has provided and look forward to contributing further to educational, research, and cultural exchanges between India and Japan in the years to come.
