FY2025 : Course BKonan University "Establishing a Platform for Computational Chemistry Research Aimed at Developing Compounds to Prevent Cancer and Aging"

From February 24 to March 10, 2026, we invited two doctoral students from the University of Calcutta and Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University in India. In India, research on plant-derived natural compounds, such as spices, is actively underway, and in recent years, numerous examples have been reported in which these compounds bind to the quadruplex structure — a unique structure of nucleic acids — and exhibit pharmacological activity. We promoted joint research aimed at mastering the fundamentals of physicochemical analysis of nucleic acids.

FY2025 : Course AOsaka Prefectural Senri Senior High School "Solving Future Challenges with Semiconductors and Quantum Technology"

We hosted students and faculty from the National Experimental High School at Central Taiwan Science Park and implemented a program as the final phase to deepen the results of collaborative research. This follows a visit to Taiwan by Senri students last December and online joint research conducted since October. On the fourth day, the participants facilitated a discussion on “How AI Will Change Future Careers” with graduate students from The University of Osaka and Kobe University. This session emphasized the importance of using English as a tool for logical scientific communication.

FY2025 : Course CHokkaido University "Microscopic observation of nanomaterials for green energy utilizationh"

From February 16 to 25, 2026, we invited Senior Lecturer Nurul Asikin Mijan and seven other faculty members from the National University of Malaysia (UKM). With the aim of improving microscopic observation techniques ranging from the micrometer to the nanometer scale, participants received hands-on training in the operation of three types of electron microscopes (SEM, STEM, and TEM) and a scanning tunneling microscope (STM). They gained invaluable experience and were inspired by the collaborative approach where researchers and operators discussed and refined measurements together.

FY2025 : Course AThe University of Osaka "Exchange Program for fostering innovation based on Science Research"

We hosted a short-term exchange program from January 26 to 31, 2026, inviting students and faculty members from Universiti Sains Malaysia, and the University of North Bengal in India. Under the program concept “fostering innovation based on science research”, we provided participants with an opportunity to experience the research environment, research facilities, and actual practices of academic exchange in Japan. The program will lead to further development in student exchanges and collaborative research in the future.

We hosted a short-term exchange program from January 18 to 24, 2026, inviting students from National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) and National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Taiwan. During part of the program, students and faculty members from Kasetsart University, Thailand, who were visiting Japan at the same time, partially participated in the program, which created a valuable opportunity for international exchange among participants from multiple countries.

FY2025 : Course AMie University "Science Opens the Door to International Exchange—A Pathway to Studying Abroad Through Science Education Training and Student Exchange—"

This annual program invites students and faculty from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education to Mie University to learn about science education in Japan. The tenth program, held from February 12 to 18, 2026, welcomed seven undergraduate students and one faculty member, providing valuable experiences for their future careers as science teachers. Through this program, the participants obtained valuable insights applicable to their future teaching careers.

FY2025 : Course AUniversity of Fukui "Technologies to Unlock the Potential of Bioresources from the Perspective of Materials Science"

We provided a hands-on training experience for students from Asia and the ASEAN region, combining lectures, practical sessions, and research exchange. A key feature of this program is its approach to bioresources not merely as subjects of research, but as “materials,” offering an integrated learning experience that spans their exploration, handling, design, and application. The lectures covered interdisciplinary topics across materials science, biotechnology, and information science. During the Research Exchange Sessions, participants gained advice from diverse perspectives and discovered new insights.

FY2025 : Course AYokohama City University "Learning Environmental and Urban Policies and Urban Waterfront Regeneration in Port Cities"

From March 1 to 8, 2026, one professor and seven students from the National University of Kaohsiung (NUK), Taiwan participated in the program, which combined lectures, site visits, and walking tours in Yokohama, Tokyo, and Kamakura. This program was designed in connection with a workshop held at NUK in September of the previous year. Through comparative perspectives between Yokohama and Kaohsiung, participants deepened their understanding of urban sustainability challenges in port cities.

FY2025 : Course AHokkaido University "Experiencing Advanced Technologies in health and medical science researc"

From March 2 to March 8, 2026, a group of eight participants from three Indian institutions — Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR), Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), and Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Science and Technology University (JSSTU) — took part in the program. The visit was designed to provide exposure to cutting-edge research laboratories, foster academic interactions with leading scientists, and promote opportunities for collaborative research, student exchange programs, and institutional partnerships.

FY2025 : Course CRemote Sensing Technology Center of Japan (RESTEC) "Technical Training on the Development, Operation, and Practical Use of Earth Observation Small Satellites"

From February 2 to 11, 2026, we hosted ten researchers from Tanzania, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, and Ghana. They were expected to acquire fundamental technologies necessary for utilizing small satellites for Earth observation, including the development of Earth observation sensors, methods for integrating sensors into small satellites, operation of ground observation systems, and techniques for analyzing and utilizing Earth observation satellite data. The program also aimed to enhance participants’ motivation to promote small satellite development.
