Hello everyone,

My name is Raashi B V, and I am a final-year Electronics and Communication Engineering student at the Global Academy of Technology (GAT), Bengaluru, India. I had the privilege of participating in the Sakura Science Program (SSP) 2025 at Shizuoka University, Hamamatsu Campus, an experience that has significantly shaped my academic outlook and future aspirations.

The SSP program offered exceptional exposure to Japan’s advanced research environment. Coming from India, the opportunity to observe cutting-edge laboratories and nano-electronic device fabrication provided practical insights far beyond classroom learning. The hands-on experience with FDTD simulations and device characterization enabled me to connect theoretical concepts with real scientific applications.

Engaging with faculty members, researchers, and participants from various countries broadened my perspective on global research practices and highlighted the importance of international collaboration. Japan’s disciplined and detail-oriented work culture also influenced the way I approach learning, problem-solving, and teamwork.

The cultural immersion component, including the experience of Japanese traditions, hospitality, and daily life, added an enriching dimension to the program and offered valuable insight into how Japan harmoniously integrates cultural heritage with technological advancement.

Overall, SSP has been a pivotal milestone in my academic journey. It enhanced my global outlook, strengthened my understanding of research-oriented environments, and inspired me to explore future opportunities in advanced technology and international collaboration. I remain sincerely grateful for this transformative and memorable experience.
