I have recently begun my electrical engineering degree at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. However, my interests in Japanese media has not faded. On the train I listened to Japanese music (j-pop/rock etc.). When I have put the appropriate time into studying and exercising, I find the time to watch anime and play video games. I watch both older animes that are completed, ongoing ones where the wait for seasons can be long and new ones sometimes when they catch my interest. As for video games I usually play on the Nintendo Switch (recently upgrade to Nintendo Switch 2) and the PlayStation 5. Even in the video game world which sees enormous competition I have found that the majority of the greatest games I have completed to be Japanese. In recent years, I have played Zelda, Elden Ring, Dragon Quest, Kirby, and Mario games. I believe that my experience with the SSP allowed me to have a deeper connection to many of my interests seeing them first hand in their original language. The Japanese language has many quirks which are hard to convey in English. So even with my rudimentary understanding, I found new meaning in some of my favorite media.
