Hi everyone, the teachers as well as the newbies, my name is Tuyet Ngan and I was 16, in grade 11 when I attended the SSP program.
The SSP program has been really impactfully motivational to me since the time I participated in the program. As a high school student, I used to have only just a passion for science and basic knowledge, but seemed to be lost in a more methodical and systematic process, and then came SSP. Although I came across this program via my teacher, I still gave my best to prove myself─dive into the base of science and hone both my hard and soft skills like teamwork, individual work, presentation... This period was irreplaceable to make me who I am today, and also in the future; it did not change my identity, but it adjusted my behavior and changed the way I see the world.
Regarding the social-relations aspect, not only did I befriend great Vietnamese peers but I also had a chance to meet the welcomed and talented Japanese teachers, friends, host family, even just the by passers on streets that I met, made me feel like home, and created an ideal atmosphere for me to develop and present myself comfortably.
Currently, I am still in contact with them regularly, in order to keep up with each other's life and remind myself about this cherished time. A small TMI is that SSP also arranged time and locations where I could explore the people, culture and advanced science and technology, which increased my love and respect for this country.
To conclude, here is what I will keep in mind throughout my future path in whatever chances I come across: be passionate, be confident and be contributing. I was granted to be a part of SSC, therefore, besides learning for myself, I always try to give back something, at least my attitude and respect.
