My name is Md Ruhul Amin, and I am from Bangladesh. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Fisheries Management at Bangladesh Agricultural University. My academic and research interests are centered on fish physiology, aquatic toxicology, and aquaculture, with a particular focus on understanding the impacts of environmental stressors on aquatic organisms.

Recently, I had the distinguished opportunity to participate in the International Marine Biology Course 2025 at Niigata University, in Japan, funded by the Sakura Science Program (SSP) of Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). This program represented a pivotal milestone in my academic and professional development. Through intensive lectures, laboratory sessions, and field visits, I acquired advanced knowledge and technical skills related to marine biology, ecological monitoring, and microplastic assessment. The course also provided a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration and dialogue with international researchers, which significantly broadened my scientific perspective on global aquatic ecosystem management.

In addition to the academic enrichment, my experience in Japan was personally transformative. I was deeply impressed by the Japanese values of discipline, respect, and collective responsibility, which were evident both in academic settings and in everyday life. The cultural exchange, exposure to traditional and modern practices, and interaction with local communities greatly enhanced my intercultural competence and appreciation for global scientific collaboration.

SSP and my international exposure have substantially influenced my academic trajectory and professional aspirations. I intend to pursue advanced research leading to a Ph.D. in Environmental Science or Aquatic Toxicology, with the goal of contributing to sustainable aquaculture and environmental conservation in Bangladesh. Ultimately, I aim to establish myself as a dedicated researcher and academic, committed to addressing pressing environmental challenges such as pollution, microplastic contamination, and climate-induced stress in aquatic ecosystems.
