My name is Ridhima, and I am a Class 12 student from India. Participating in the Sakura Science Exchange Program was a transformative experience that came at the perfect time, as I stand at the crossroads of choosing my university path.

Before the program, my understanding of science was confined to textbooks. SSP opened the door to a world of real-world innovation. Visiting cutting-edge laboratories and seeing advanced technology in action was incredibly inspiring. It was one thing to read about concepts in physics and computer science, but another to witness their practical applications in robotics and AI. This experience solidified my ambition to become an engineer.

The program’s greatest impact was showing me the power of a collaborative and diligent scientific community. Interacting with Japanese professors and students reshaped my approach to learning, emphasizing curiosity and precision. This has motivated me to explore opportunities for higher education in Japan, a country I now deeply admire for its perfect blend of tradition and innovation. I am now preparing for my board exams and university entrance tests with a clear and exciting goal.

I am also thrilled to be part of the growing alumni community in India. Hearing about the upcoming 7th alumni meet at IIT Delhi in October 2025 is fantastic. It shows that the connections we made and the inspiration we gained continue to thrive long after the program ends. I look forward to attending future events, networking with like-minded peers, and continuing this incredible journey of learning and growth.
