ベトナムの若手研究者が、日本の先端歯学研究を学ぶ

さくらサイエンスプログラムのご支援により、岡山大学歯学部でベトナム・ハイフォン医科薬科大学歯学部とハノイ医科大学歯学部の先生をお迎えして実施している短期研修事業も、今年で4年目を迎えました。本プログラムは、招へい者それぞれが興味のある研究分野をより深く学び、将来日本において外国人研究者として研究活動を行うことの素晴らしさを実感してもらうことを目的としております。
今年度は平成31年1月14日から23日の10日間、両大学から2名ずつの先生を招へいし実施いたしました。4名の先生は生体材料学分野と歯科矯正学分野に1名ずつ、インプラント再生補綴学分野に2名配属となり、各分野にて研究活動・診療見学を行いました。研究室では様々な実験手法を学んだり、診療室では治療方針について積極的にディスカッションを行ったり、歯科技工室を訪問した際には、歯科技工士が3Dプリンターで作製したモデルが歯科のみならず、医科分野の外科手術でも応用されていることを知り、大変驚いている様子でした。
滞在4日目には、歯学部校友会主催のウェルカムパーティーが開催されました。同時期に歯学部に滞在していた5カ国6大学からの短期留学生・研究者と共に、3年次の選択科目で短期留学を経験した岡大歯学部生を中心にその他多くの大学院留学生、教員等と交流を深め、大変にぎやかな会となりました。
滞在中には研究活動・診療見学の合間に毎日開講された英語講義シリーズで、歯学部が誇る臨床、研究のみならず日本文化についての講義を受けたり、生体医工学に関する国際シンポジウムに参加したり、一般歯科医院に勤務する先生に日本の開業医の状況についてご講義いただいたりと、日本の歯科医学分野の基礎から臨床まで幅広く学んでいただきました。
週末には他の留学生や学生・教員有志と貸し切りバスに乗り、倉敷美観地区、吉備津神社といった岡山近隣の名所を訪問し、日本文化に触れる機会もありました。
日本での最終日前日には関西方面へ足を延ばし、歯科用医療器械の製造販売を行うモリタ製作所の京都工場を訪問しました。創業100年以上の歴史があり、日本のみならず世界の歯科診療を支えてきた技術に触れ、大変感銘を受けたようでした。
今年度も本プログラム実施にあたり、岡山大学、JST、その他多くの関係者の皆様にご協力いただきました。この場を借りて心より感謝申し上げます。
ハイフォン医科薬科大学の先生からのコメント
We worked at the Dental School in Okayama University for 10 days, from January 14 to January 23. Although the time was not too long, Japan made us admirable. We also learned a lot of knowledge and skills in studying, researching and treating patients.
For 10 days, my team studied in the lab and clinic of Dental School- Okayama University. In the afternoons, from 13:00 to 15:00, we were not only updated in the research but also discovered Japanese cultures in English from leading professors. The studying and researching facilities are extremely modern and convenient. In addition, we also had a very special and interesting experience in the ancient village of Kurashiki and Morita factory. Everywhere and everyone will always be ready to help you. They are so kind, friendly and gentle.
Japan is a good country for living, studying and researching, a modern but very traditional country. We hope that we can return to Okayama in the near future. Finally, we just want to say: we thank you so much for everything: OKAYAMA, WE’LL MISS YOU!
ハノイ医科大学の先生からのコメント
Thanks to the Sakura exchange program, we have learned many things in Japan, especially about my specialty of basic sciences in dentistry. We have studied in Dental School of Okayama University for 10 days, from Jan. 14th to Jan. 23rd. We have had a great opportunity to live, study and explore Japanese culture. We were able to learn about the people, the culture, the history and language of one of the world's most unique cultures. And we have learned a lot of things in dentistry there.
In Dental School of Okayama University, we learned at the Biomaterial Department and some departments such as: Orthodontics Dept., Prosthodontic Dept., Dental Anesthesiology Dept., etc. Every day, in the afternoon, we were taught many useful English lectures by Okayama University’s professors. We were strongly impressed by the modern equipment and the professional working spirit of the Okayama University’s doctors and professors. Japanese are very kind and will be ready to help us with the enthusiasm.
By the end of this course, we went on a trip to historic cities of Kyoto and Osaka, discovered peaceful temples, museums, and the history of Japan. We found that Japan is not only a developed country but also is one of the safest countries and the safest places to visit in the world. We do hope to have chance to come back to Japan, especially to Okayama, in the near future.
