SIT students were so friendly to communicate. They taught us how to wear yukata. Yukata is Japanese garment, a casual summer kimono usually made of cotton or synthetic fabric, and unlined. I was so excited and I was totally in mood to learn how to wear yukata. After all, the students were ready with their yukata, and we took photos together as our memory, wearing yukata. All female students looked very pretty and “kawaii” with yukata and also the boys looked pretty handsome.
Laboratory visit was our next activity. Prof. Horie and his students showed us the demonstration about the brain computing interface. It was awesome and fun. I hope that we can learn it also in UUM (Universiti Utra Malaysia). With his 3 students and 3 different project, they have explained to us. It’s very interesting when it comes to artificial intelligent. How they managed to be done in their 3D games and their genius wheelchair project. At the end of lab visit, we had chance to hear their explanations about their project and also touched their project. We have tried their 3D games and we had so much fun and happy evening on that day. I’ve also got many knowledge to be applied in my project later.
They brought us to Odaiba, visiting Miraikan museum. It was an intresting visit, that’s because, the museum focus more to the question rather than answer to every development of technology which is making us to picture our near future and to be better understanding the technology that suppors our everyday life. We also had a chance to watch ASIMO, a Humanoid Robot that make us imagine a future society in which we live alongside robots. It’s really fascinating as we watch the robot moves and makes a human-like movement like walking, singing and even playing soccer. After that, I went to see some exhibit .The first is Explore the frontiers, a zone allows to explore space, solar system, the Earth and all life there on a wide variety of scales. I watched earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other natural disasters have caused great damage to many lives in Japan. I also had a chance to use some replica of medical imaging devices in Promoting Medicine Together Exhibit. This Miraikan’s visit made my mind open to the future technology. There are so many things that human can achieve more and more. In my opinion, Japan is always a step ahead compared to another country, and which impresses me the most.
It was the day of our final presentation. The first presenters presented on the Evaluation of Telephone. Then my group as the second group presented on 11 Common sentences we’used in Japan. The third group presented on 8 days survive in Japan. It was an interesting to watch every group’s presentation. Each group have their own strength during the presentation. After that, we went to closing ceremony and received our certificate and SIT flag. There was a farewell party organized for us after the closing ceremony. The good food was served for us. We’d like to say thank you to SIT, we danced as the closure of the farewell party. The dance was named Tarian Cinta Sayang which means about the Kedah (Malaysia) Tradition. We have really enjoyed performing on that day. We thanked Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) for the opportunity given and the nice treatment.
In the end of my journey as an UUM students, it was a very nice experience that I could never get it again in my whole life. I’ve learned a lot things in this program by looking at the attitude, passion and hard work of Japanese toward their works and studies. 8 days in Japan is not long, but it is also not too short for me. This program made my eyes to be opened and let me gain a lot of experience. The schedule arranged was very nice, as we had time for the campus visit and also had our own free time to visit any places where we would go. In conclusion, I was very happy with this program that is well-arranged and I really enjoyed the whole program.
総括
