SAKURA SCIENCE University Program
Japan University Corporation Career Session
We invited 49 excellent undergraduate and graduate students selected from leading universities in India to attend a special program, which aimed to accelerate further brain cycle between Japan and India. On the afternoon of Wednesday, September 27, an Information Session for Universities and Companies was held in the 1F hall of the JST Tokyo Headquarters Annex.
The Indian students attended an explanation about studying in Japan given by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) before moving freely between the booths of each university and company (12 universities, 1 company, 2 organizations) and conversing with the representatives on an individual level.
There were also two spaces where the universities and companies could give presentations in turn within the venue. Each representative showed off their organization's characteristics and charms during their limited time slot.
Enthusiastic questions were being asked in every location: "What's the environment like around the university?", "Are the dormitories furnished, and what is the cost?", "How do I get a scholarship?", "Do you offer guidance for after graduation and recruitment support?", "What percentage of students are from India?", "Can I study in Japan even if I haven't learned Japanese?" and many more.
The Indian students were impressive, focusing straight ahead as they listened earnestly to the words of the representatives.
